Music feeds my soul

Music has always played such an important part in my life.  Even as a kid, it was the words I couldn't find.

I remember when I separated from my husband and was living with my parents.  Christmas time was nearing and there was some music on the speaker at the grocery store.  I started singing.  In the moment, I realized I had been so depressed that I'd stopped singing.  This was highly unusual for me.  I always sang.  I sing to the radio (playlist or better yet, mixed tape), in the shower, as I was giving instructions to students, while cooking, etc. I think you get the idea.

I found that music has this incredible ability to reconnect us with our essence. It's like a bridge to emotions, memories, and the very core of our being. Have you ever felt that? For me, the simple act of singing became a powerful tool for self-regulation, a way to express, release, and connect with the energy within.

I invite you to reflect on your own musical journey. Whether it's a favorite song that sparks nostalgia or a melody that accompanies your yoga practice, let's celebrate the transformative power of music together.

Feel free to share your thoughts or any musical gems that have a special place in your heart. Here's to the symphony of life and the melodies that make our hearts sing!

I made a Mindful December Playlist, if you want to listen, see below
